Jeep Rental

Post by edsfam »

Is anyone aware of an agency on St. John that will rent to a person under the age of 25? They have a credit card and excellent credit. I know of Thrifty & Budget on STT but was wondering if any of the agencies on St. John would do it for perhaps an additional daily fee?? My friends daughter wants to get married there next season and are going a few days before the rest of the clan. Any ideas appreciated!

Don't know if any of the "youngsters" have a corporate credit card, but my daughter used to reserve with a corporate card and most companies would waive the under 25 fee. (She did not actually pay with the corporate card, just the reservation was enough for them.)

I'm sorry, I can't add a thing about underage Jeep rentals. I just wanted to say how nice it was to see a question like this for a change, a real, you know, question. I like finding out what everyone does when they get to STJ, and what swimsuits they buy, and what drinks they fix, but I like seeing real questions, too. Kinda nostalgic.

I went thru this with my 22yo son in 2005. It isn't the law about the age, it is basically insurance co. policy. I also found out if your villa manager has a good relationship with one rental place it is possible to rent with a hefty surcharge, though if they didn't like the way you looked when you picked up the car you'd be toast. It was too much money. It was a 3 week vacation in Coral Bay, me, Mrs, son, and his girlfriend. I worried that 1 car was going to be a disaster, but we funtioned fine with one 4 dr suzuki. The kids did hitch back from Cruz Bay one day. By the way, I heard some companies won't rent to drivers over 65 on STJ.
