Booze Thread Favorite Place to get loaded in the Islands

Post by captainjay »

Since the booze thread is so much fun and tax day is over with what is your favorite watering hole and drink in the islands.

I would have to say mine is The Soggy Dollar and a nice cold caribe or painkiller although I do prefer Cuzan over Pusser's pain killers.

i also have to agree with one of the Soggy Dollar Bar's Painkiller.

Another frozen drink I enjoy is a bushwacker at Morgan Mangoes and a nice cold Heinken at Skinny Legs.

Captain Jay, you crack me up!!

Ditto on the Soggy Dollar Painkiller. Also Sopchoppy's (whatever it's name is now) in Red Hook for an ice, cold beer while overlooking the marina. Hopefully after a long day out on a boat, visiting Soggy Dollar

Anything as long as warm weather, cool breezes, the beach, the water and maybe a sunset are involved! We never made it to White Bay and the Soggy Dollar, but that;s high on the list for the next trip. The Beach Bar was probably the closest we came and enjoyed sitting there looking at the harbor and the people.

Time to start working on convincing the wife that we have to go back soon!

I was just going to say that my fav is in the pool in the late afternoon after a day of sun, swimming and snorkeling.

Some of our best inventions have occured there including Orange Rum & Tang (kudos to Gromit) and the Banana Coconut Rum milkshake (kudos to Mr. Flip-Flop). Yes, I was barely able to get out of the pool, but I had safety floation devices :)

Another of my best memories on island would be the 14 -- that's right 14 -- painkillers that Gromit and I shared one full moon at Miss Lucy's. Good times. . . good times.

Under the sun:

Place - Scott Beach
Drink - White Star

Under a roof:

Place - Morgan's Mango
Drink - Mango Tanga

This is the first Cruz Bay drink and first bar we visited on our honeymoon and I am transported back to June 1995 each time we sit down at that bar.

I loveeeeee the Beach Bar's Bushwacker. I think the secret is their blender (and all that chocolate)!!

I have found myself a bit too tipsy downing Bushwackers at Skinny's. Their's ain't frozen and pack quite punch :). And then it's fun to do some drunk shopping while hubby watches the game.

My fave place to get buzzing on STJ is the villa. It's fun for all when no one has to be the designated driver.

I also reccomend the Greenhouse on STT. Their drnink specials can knock you out sooner than expected :).

FF and Gromit - you are my idols. I tried to drink ONE painkiller at Miss Lucy's and, it may have just been a bad night for the bartender, but it was like trying to suck down a glass of ether. I couldn't get through it.

I am such a sissy. :(

On a deck looking at the sunset. 8)
The drink: anything with rum. Rum and diet coke works for me.

I've only been there once so I will have to check out more of the bars.
We liked Woody's too.
