Coral Bay Nightlife

Post by hotrod »

We usually stay in Cruz Bay but are thinking about renting a villa in Coral Bay this time. We've been to Skinny Legs, Island Blues and a few other places but only during the day. Wondering if these and other places are fun at night and open past 11:00 or so. Thanks!

We stay in Coral Bay and Skinny Legs is more restaurant than nightlife IMO, but Island Blues is a blast! Kind of like Norm's Cheers to us!!! Some nights they have live music or open mic or the bartender's I-pod!! It's our favorite hangout, but they close at 11PM I think (at least in off season in early December!) as does Aqua Bistro, actually they may close at 10PM sometimes. We eat at Island Blues a lot too, great food! Island Blues posts their live music on Facebook. Have had some great nights at Aqua Bistro too!! Shipwreck Landing has live music some nights also! But all in all Coral Bay pretty much goes to bed at 11PM.

Don't know of anything these days, but the old Sea Breeze in Coral Bay was hopping 24/7 back in the day. I don't think I ever saw that place closed, or empty for that matter, morning, noon, or night! I still miss it...

Ah, nostalgia! Here's a link to a video. From back in the day--before all the money came. Some of it shot at the Sea Breeze. If T-Bird was that young, I guess we would have been young, too. Some at the Backyard. None at The Kite, although I miss that most of all. Different island then. A lot of people who like it today wouldn't have liked it then. And a lot of people who liked it then, don't like a lot of what it is today.

Coral Bay is definitely not a late night party place. We have found that one tends to wake up early, enjoy the day, party early and hard, wind down by 10:00 or so.
When you find yourself in a hole.... quit digging.

Seabreeze is where Sweet Plantains is now. Island Blues displays old signs from previous Coral Bay establishments. I love it that they the old signs are still around.

Sea Breeze's alias was The Time Warp Cafe. Did not matter what time you walked in but you never left before 4am. Ah to be that young and foolish again.
