Lily's gourmet

Post by jwwj »

Hi All, we are staying in Coral Bay for the first time this year having stayed in the Rendezvous Bay, Chocolate Hole area the past few years. We usually cook in several nights and since we won't be close to Starfish Market was wondering if recent visitors/residents could tell us what meats/seafood we can expect to find at Lily's gourmet market or any other options on the east end. thanks!

listening to this as we will be on the Coral Bay side for the first time as well next month, although we do plan on making stops at Starfish, too. But interested to shop in Coral Bay, too!

Not recent but when we were there last year they had some nice looking steaks, but Very pricey. I think a boneless rib eye was $20+ a pound. I don't remember any seafood. Sometimes there are people near Island Blues selling fish. Love City Market is also in Coral Bay and they carry almost anything you could want, though all meat is frozen. Lily's makes bread some days too. It's worth finding out what day's and going back and getting some. It is very good.

We live in Coral Bay and we only buy meats and seafood at Starfish :) You can find the fishermen selling fresh fish sometimes by Island Blues or just before Sweet Plantains.

We have found Lily's to be pretty decent overall for general stuff. They do ave "gourmet" items wbut as with most gourmet items you pay dearly for them. Not always the best price but a decent selection. I can also find my favorte frozen bagels straight from NYC in the frozen section. We also purchase deli meat from them and it was very good. I don't recall purchasing any other meat from them except bacon and hot dogs. I do recall their tropical fruits were very pricey (best prices for those are at Pine Peace IMHO). But for eggs, milk, cheese, breads, snack items and even some booze and mixers they were decent.

We usually, shop at Pine Peace for our big food purchase, stop at Starfish to grab anything we couldn't find at Pine Peace and fill in with extra's and stuff that we need to replensih from Lily's throughout the week.

That generally gives us the best bang for our buck.

Lillys is at Cocolobo plaza in Coral Bay.

Pine Peace is at the bottom of Jacob's Ladder across from the BBall Court.

Starfish is on the free maps they provide at the ferry dock.
