John's Folly snorkeling

Post by hockeyboy »

I'll be staying at Ocean Palm in June. Is it safe to snorkel in front of this villa? It is located on John's Folly.

I can't find much about John's Folly on line so I'm guessing the answer is no.

I have seen people snorkeling in John's Folly before. I think you just have to be careful because areas of it are shallow/the reef comes up to the water's surface.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Thanks for the replies.

I may try it if the surf is light, otherwise off to Salt Pond!

I'm reading that a strong surf will try to wash you up onto the shallow water coral. That would hurt like *ell and wouldn't do much for the corals either.
