Don't know about track phones, but I know that any thing but AT&T is iffy on the island. We have a go phone and buy min. each year. Our regular phone is Verizon, but you risk really high roaming charges if you get a connection.

Since my parents spend alot of time on island, they actualy dropped Verizon for the Trac-phone. I used my Verizon one time and ended up with a $700 phone bill  since it roamed to Tortola everytime I made a call. Mom and dad pre-pay their trac phone and it works great. They are out in the Coral Bay end and have never had reception problems since there is a tower right on Bordeau.

Does anyone know if ATT has signal/3G on the Coral Bay side? Or any area to steer clear of when getting a villa because of no ATT signal?
Sadly, I am tickerless :(

I just ordered a AT+T pre- paid phone.
Have Verizon service and got boned last year $$$...
If it works-they have great coverage-I ordered the $2 a day plan (unlimited)-only pay for the days you use..got a cheap phone- only out $8.63 now..
any feedback ???
PS.
Should have great coverage-staying at Bluebeards Castle..

I am surprised that so many people have had luck with them. We had no luck at all with our friends, good to know that it worked for others.

Now I am even more confused - I guess I will buy an ATT go phone just to be safe - that way between the 2 I should have coverage, if coverage is to be had - I am mostly concerned with being able to contact other members of out party - can't wait - we have been counting down for almost 2years and finally we are getting close.

Scoob, I'll be interested to hear how that works for you. We are planning on doing the same thing...our Verizon bill last year was sobering!! I called and tried to dispute it to no avail...

I noticed they were selling AT&T Go Phones in Love City Market in Coral Bay, and I must say, I get great AT&T reception in Coral Bay.
