New to this forum and LOVING IT!

Post by lizzybirdy »

I just want to say how much I love this Forum. I feel like I've found a worm hole to STJ. I have a new pre-occupation. I hear myself speak when I read the posts about what you love there.
Here in California, everyone travels to Hawaii for their island fix. It's beautiful, don't get me wrong, but I had to get a wet suit so I could snorkle more than 30 min.
My heart aches for STJ, and now I feel like Dorothy in OZ. Type in USVI ONLINE, hit ENTER, close my eyes, click my heels and I'M there.
Thank you all for helping make my "Short list" for villas, really really looong.
I'm looking forward to my first one this year. Still working on dates and people, but will be there.
Gotta start with No. Shore cause it's what I love the most, than will venture out.
My eye is on Cinnamon Tarn...La Jolla, Sunnyledge..
Of course, at some point Peter Bay ..the Gatehouse..
Spellbound.
Miles Away will be a different perspective.
So many.And such great reviews.
My only Caribbean Villa experience has been at Open Deck on Virgin Gorda, which, BTW, is fabulous and Mahoe Bay is exceptional snorkeling.
Well, I just had to put this out there. Got to get to work.
Thank you all!

Welcome!
Stayed at Spellbound & it's gorgeous! Sunnyledge is on my "must do" list, too.
Hope to hear more about your travels, and hopeful upcoming trip(s) to STJ.
Smiles-

Welcome Liz! It is indeed a happy addiction. Very nice to have a great group of people to talk to that "get it", and the TR's are so fun to read!

Another one to add to your growing list- North Shore if you have a large group- Island Stones. I have not stayed there but sure want to!

So many villas, so little time... ;-)

Welcome to the fun house!

Welcome! I remember feeling the exact same love when I first joined the Forum and after all these years, it has only grown stronger!

Also, you can't go wrong with Cinnamon Tarn!

Remember, the Forum only requests one thing in exchange for it's help - a trip report when you get back!
A mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open.

It's a great addiction--and other than depleting your piggy bank, it doesn't harm you

Welcome Lizzy!

We stayed at Open Deck two years ago - loved, loved, loved that house and the location.

How big of a house do you need? We rented on the North Shore a number of times.

Plans keep morphing but 2--3 bdrms max. May be 2 couples, my friends would be 1st timers to STJ. They absolutely LOVE to snorkle. They will be our guests---if this year can work for them. OR:
May be my brother & his 2 teens (been here twice and love it. They stayed at Casa YaYa and Cliffside.)
May be just us two. It was gonna be 2 weeks , now perhaps a little less.
COuld be a villa for a week, then Caneel.
I know the villas book up..but I am not gonna stress this.
I am just so happy to be going. I will be happy wherever we end up.

Welcome lizzybirdy! I really love this forum too. Great ideas, questions answered, and inspiration! A villa we love when we are going with another couple is Orion's Hill. It has 2 bedrooms, but the twin living rooms are big enough to sleep extra children. We are going solo this year, but my brother-in-law and sister-in-law are going to stay there with another couple, her adult daughter and 2 teens. It has great views (both sides of the island), pool that is cleaned by reverse osmosis, and is quiet. It is beautifully done with georgous wood work and nice furnishings and art. Have fun!
