Villa search, sunset views and PRIVATE pool/deck

Post by Charlie2001 »

We took our first trip to St John last July, staying at Cloud Nine villa on Gifft Hill. The combination of incredible views and complete privacy was hard to beat.

We're in the planning stages for a repeat trip this year and are looking for other villas that may offer similar views and complete privacy for the deck/pool area (if you get my drift). A return trip to Cloud Nine would be more than acceptable, but I wanted to check for any first-hand recommendations for other villas that could fit the bill.

The only other requirements are A/C in the master bedroom, and a well equipped kitchen.

Thanks for any pointers!

charlie,

bride and i have been big fans of c9 (stayed there 4 times) for her panoramic views, the sunsets, all one level and full ac. though she is starting to show her age, her pricing offers true value and reasonable comfort. some other villas & locations that may give you some of the same pluses (but i've failed to find one that offers all) are alleasandra and neigboring villas on upper rockridge, the bluff side villas on maria bluff, contant, and hill side on the south side of mouth of chocolate hole, and for upper scale look at some of those in virgin grande estates.

there are several optons in skytop (sol inclination comes to mind) that will have sunrises and sunsets between october and march and perhaps a little longer. if you are willing to give up sunsets for sunrises, there are several on ajax peak and bordeaux mnt where casa bueno, summerwind, and bordeaux breeze come to mind.

enjoy the hunt.

We have enjoyed Splendore Villa. In particular, the location on Maria Bluff is one of the highlights. The convenience to Cruz Bay, combined with the stunning views and privacy make this our favorite villa.

The pool has a waterfall and there is a hot tub. There is a lovely covered area for dining, well appointed kitchen, very nice master bedrooms (2).

Highly, highly recommend this villa.

Thanks everyone! Allesandra does look nice indeed. Is the pool deck private? Meaning, can you see other houses, or be seen?

I really love the look of Splendore, but unfortunately it is almost completely booked for the timeframe we are able to travel. Grrrr...

Any other suggestions?

I got this villa for friends last year and they loved, loved, loved it. Same area as Splendore (just below Splendore).

Yes the pool deck is private the only way any one to see you would be if you were standing at the railing and they had binos looking from a couple of hundred yds away as far as laying around the deck or under the layni know one could see you

I'll second Waterguy's recommendation of Allesandra. We stayed there a couple years ago and it was private. The pool, deck and hot tub were awesome! The whole house was beautiful and in excellent shape as well! There was A/C in the bedrooms and the kitchen was very nice. Great location and beautiful views topped it all off nicely!

My brother and his wife stayed at Arc Du Soleil in the Virgin Grand Estates a couple of years ago. It is a beautiful villa with a great pool and sunset views. They loved it and are returning again this year.
