Bequia...anyone?

Post by spindrift »

We are in the beginning stages for planning our May trip, and would love to hear from anyone who may have experienced visiting St. Vincent & the Grenadines, but more specifically Bequia.
Thanks in advance, Spindrift.

Been there often ------- SVG is one part of it all and mostly accessible by boat -- Bequia is excellent -- by ferry from St Vincent and very down island culturally different - a fine place for a few weeks no question -- check out 'Moonhole'

Bequia is fabulous. I've told all my family, if I ever turn up missing check for me on the lawn of the Fragipani on Bequia, if I'm not there alert the authorities :-)

Forum member Ken has been to Bequia and posted about it here, including a link to his excellent photos.

Use the "Search" function up near the top of the page. Enter "Bequia" and you'll see other posts made here about it.

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback.

Sailorgirl…so funny! If we make it, I’ll surely look for you at the Frangipani, or at least raise a cold one in your honor.

jmq…I looked up Ken’s trip report of Bequia; lots of good information and his photos are amazing…thanks for the suggestion! Also on that page flip-flop found a great trip report from scuba mom’s adventures there in SVG.

A little background…I first discovered the Caribbean and started visiting a number of islands back in December of 1971. Last month while we were looking through boxes of my Kodachrome slides from those adventures, I felt rather “nostalgic” for those more pristine places and times. I know you can’t go back 40 years, but we are hoping to seek out some sleepier, less developed places to “hang our hat” for awhile… Thanks, again, for all who responded.
