Lunar Eclipse
Lunar Eclipse
Got up at 2:20am. The moon had only a small shadow on it, but by 2:45 it was completely covered. It never went totally dark...more like someone had turned the dimmer switch down to low.
Not exactly the most exciting thing to watch, but since I won't be around for the next one, I'm glad I saw it.
Off to bed. I need to get up in two hours for work

Friends, they go away then they re-appear...I believe there is Magic here.
A perfectly clear sky full of stars on a crisp night, beginning of winter solstice, and a total eclipse of the moon... an early morning I'll remember.
Memories of the last one had faded a bit.
I posted three simple, no special lens or scope (think distant) pics on the "Off Topic" Forum.
It is 4 AM... I am going outside once more...

... no longer a stranger to paradise
It was a crystal clear night here in Florida. Seemed like every star was out and I watched the moon disappear. It was so kool and since it happened on the Winter Solstice which last happened 372 years ago – I felt like a part of history. But I was glad to get back into my warm bed.
