Spirit got me!

I've used Spirit the last 6 years with no changes to my flights aside from time of day. I've read the reports of them screwing up folks & didn't think it would happen to me. Well I booked my Dad and friend this Feb to come down for 6 days and they canceled both days and changed dates to them being on vaca for only 4 days. after calling and making date changes he will be with us 7 days! Worst part is the 3 days the wife & I are alone is now down to 2! The days they canceled were Tues - Wed mid week.....

Sorry to hear,I know some people like RickG have had good luck with Spirit But I think they suck and are the worst airline flying! I'm sure it was easy dealing with their customer service too. I hope you still enjoy your trip

Actually the customer service wasn't bad.....They didn't change any of mine or my kids flights but we are booked with connecting flights and weekends. the ones they did were just from fla. Maybe that could be a reason.....I must say I'll still us them due to their airport is 30 min & not in NY or phil. I also hate big city airports.

I'm the one they got in January - changed our departure and arrival dates not just by a few minutes, but a whole day on each end! We were able to make it work, but I will avoid Spirit in the future.

I wonder if booking on the weekday makes a difference. Just a thought.....

I live 10 minutes from ACY and will drive to JFK, Philly or Newark. All three have direct flights that are only 4 hrs and arrive earlier. JFK flight arrives at 12:55pm so you can catch the 2 pm ferry. The last Spirit flight was 2:45 flight 4 hr layover in FLL (was supposed to be 3 hrs) and then another 2:35 and didn't arrive til 6 pm. We stayed at Emerald beach the 1st night last trip and had a drink in our hand and toes in the sand by 2:30 pm. Our Feb. tickets were $335 rt direct out of JFK , cheaper that Spirit anyway.
