Non-speedy boat to BVIs

Post by tah134 »

Hi-
I will be there in a few days and am 6 months pregnant. My Dr asked me not to take any speed boat rides as they are too bumpy....any slower moving boats that would be recommended to go the BVIs? Thanks

Hello, Just returned from STJ (about 2 weeks ago) and we had a day trip on Calypso - a catamaran. Very smooth ride - I'm sure your doctor would approve!

You may be thinking Speedy's ferry is a speed boat. It is not. They are full size ferrys and I didn't think they were bumby at all.

I would think any of the larger sailboats...monohulls or catamarans would be smooth. The only difficult/bumpy part to these boats is usually the getting on or off. You might inquire from any potential charters how they board and disembark. You definitely don't want to be hopping off the boat into waist deep water to wade ashore.
