Dancing With The Stars is coming to STJ Dec 11th

Post by Pia »

Well not exactly but they are stars in their own right :)

The 5th grade in all 3 schools on STJ and this year 3 schools on STT have been learning ballroom dancing - Foxtrot, Swing, Rumba, Tango, Waltz and Merengue and the "competition" this year will be held outside at the ball field at Spauve School in Cruz Bay (last year it was at the Westin Ballroom but it was so well attended and we outgrew the space) Saturday December 11th starting at 5pm (might be 5:30pm) so come on down and cheer for the children and say hi to me as I will be judging the event again this year.

The children were excellent last year and went from not even wanting to stand next to a partner never mind take dance position to being gracious, polite and respectful of each other - a 180 degree turn around in their behavior both during and after the class.

This is also the same night as the Christmas Party at Mongoose Junction so please add it to your calendar and come show your support for the Children of both islands :)

Here is a link to a few pictures from last years event

ooh... I wanted to attend this last year, but couldn't convince "himself", but perhaps we can catch it this year. I'd love to see the kids show off their new found skills.

Looking forward to seeing you at some point Pia. We'll be right around the corner again. Woohoo.

Hooray! We were thrilled to attend for part of the festivities last year and hoped we could be there this year!

For any one on island, it was wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of both students and adults and the coming together of the island community! The pride of all was so evident!

See you there!

Sounds like a good time - we arrive in STT that day and were hoping to catch the 4:00 ferry from RH - any ideas on how crowded that will be??
