Restaurant ? from Newbie

Hi - Our first trip to St John is rapidly approaching and have a few questions!
Do they still have BBQ at the Donkey Diner on Sat nights and how late do they serve?
Are Miss Lucy's and Vie's open now?
How about Sweet Plantains?
Will we need reservations at Sweet Plantains and Aqua Bistro? Shipwreck Landing?

We vacation around this same time every December in Coral Bay area and Miss Lucy's and Vie's have always been open. We have never needed reservations at Aqua Bistro or Shipwreck. I'm pretty sure Sweet Plantains is open, don't know about reservations there as that's one we haven't tried! I didn't see the BBQ advertised on Donkey Diner's web site.

Donkey Diner doesn't seem to have BBQ any more or at least currently since it doesn't appear on their website. The BBQ night was done by other good folks (who borrowed the space on Sunday evenings) and not by the Donkey Diner folks, so not sure what happened.

You don't "need" to make reservations at Sweet Plantains, especially off-season, but they sure do appreciate reservations if you can make them.

Okay, thanks!! We plan to hit those places plus Skinny Legs and Tourist Trap! Also, just booked Ted's Supper club to cook for us one night
We might go into Cruz Bay one night for dinner plus I will need to shop just a little!
Appreciate all the help you guys on this board have been - got a lot of good ideas and info here.

Sara, if you go to Cruz Bay La Plancha Del Mar at Mongoose Junction is by far one of the best places to eat IMO....
