Where to walk the Dog?

Post by tedprosser »

We have our big slow dog Little Bear with us this winter on St John ( Coarl Bay ), Does anyone have a good suggestion for a place to take him for a walk?? I know it's ok to have him on the trails on a leash, but most are a little rough for the old 80 lb mut!

I like to get to Maho early; like 8:00. Usually the only people there when I get there are people walking/playing with their dogs. The dogs love it. One guy even brings his dog over in his dingy. The dogs get to run the length of the beach.
Not a lot of flat land on St. John for a "big slow dog". I think Maho fits the bill.

Just as a reminder - no dogs allowed on any National Park Beach - unfortunately the man who comes in on the dinghy can/will be fined if he is caught :(

Lots of folks take their dogs to the Guy Benjamin School field. You may have to pick up after because they have PE on the field. However, I don't think the goats pick up after themselves!
