Does anyone have any good recipes for Christmas cocktails? Having a party and would love to have a fun signature drink to serve for the ladies.

I had a fabulous Pomegranate Martini at Caneel and would love that recipe. Can't seem to duplicate it.

are you looking for it to be based in a certain liquor? vodka? champagne?
I have served a scarlett o'hara in the past on Christmas. It's Southern Comfort and cranberry. not sure if you go for SC though.

I'm open to anything. Personally I like anything that isn't too sweet. Scarlet O'Hara sounds great.

I will be sampling recipes the next few weeks...just to be sure I pick the right one.

Caneel's pomegranate martini is made with Pama brand liqueur mixed with vodka and lime and shaken over ice. I have had it and I agree it is good. They also do a pomegranate mojito with the same liqueur, muddled mint, lime, rum, and sparkling water. I actually like that one a little better.

To me, a kir royale is the prefect festive cocktail at holiday time. I checked my flickr stream to see what I served last year, and it was kir royales with frozen raspberries floating in them, and a cranberry cooler in a martini glass with a twist of lime and a lemon sugar rim.

I love a Kir Royale. Great suggestions. Thanks for the info on the Caneel recipe.

We enjoy a Poinsettia Cocktail as our signature drink.
Cointreau, cranberry juice, topped with champagne.
Light and bubbly.

I made this last Thanksgiving and it was a hit. It had a different name but I have no idea what it was!

Apple Champagne Cocktail

INGREDIENTS
• 1 part apple brandy
• 1 part apple juice
• 2 dashes blood orange bitters
• Ice
• 1 sugar cube
• 3 parts chilled Prosecco
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Combine apple brandy, apple juice, and bitters in a cocktail shaker and top with ice; shake vigorously (about 20 times).
2. Place sugar cube in the bottom of a chilled champagne flute, strain brandy mixture into the glass, and top with Prosecco. Serve.

Cocktail glass
Drink Colour:
Pink
Ingredients
•1 splash Lime Cordial (Rose's)
•1 part Triple Sec
•1 part Vodka, lemon
•1 part Pomegranate Juice (POM)
•1 part Sour Mix
Mixing Instructions
Shake ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into glass.

I made a big vat of some sort of punch last year. The best thing was the ice ring that I had formed in a silicone bundt pan. It had prosecco, cranberry juice and, knowing me, rum. One of my mother's friends got drunk from it and fell off a chair.

Good times. I'll have to make it again.

The bundt pan simply served as a vessel for the ice ring. You know...add some class to the firewater the bowl contained.

It was fun because my mother's friend just got wasted and started yelling and falling down. I just sat back, smile on my face, and enjoyed the chaos I had caused. Because it's not a holiday until someone gets drunk and starts ranting about the government!

Pipanale you are hysterical. However the sad truth is I would be the one who would get drunk and fall off a chair- and it wouldn't take much more than a couple of drinks. LOL

I have a Pomegranite Cosmo/Martini every night (well almost)

.....

1/4 cup Parma Liqueur
1/8 cup Cointreau
splash Ciroc Vodka (maybe a wee bit more than a splash less than the Cointreau but more than the Roses)
splash Roses Lime Juice

All shaken over ice...........yummy
