So this Sunday morning/afternoon in rainy Florence I got around to a few things that have been needed getting around to for a long time:
1. We removed the social networking icons at the top of the page that were part of the "ShareThis" tool - now it is only the ShareThis icon and text link. You can use this when you want to "share" the forum or site with someone using several tools (FB, Twitter, email, etc.)
2. We made a new FaceBook page for the site - this is a page and not a group (which in hindsight was probably a mistake - the group - but FaceBook can be confusing and they like to change things often).
3. We added a "Like" button for FaceBook at the top of the page - which means you will "Like" this page: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49709521775
4. We fixed up the icons in the forum tool links above - made the RSS icon a link to the actual feed instead of to Feedburner, the FB icon links to the above mentioned page http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49709521775, and the Twitter icon links to the VIOL_Forum Twitter page - http://twitter.com/VIOL_Forum
5. What this all means: not much! It is just easier now to find us, share us, and read the forum or keep up with it in other places. For example you can use a feedreader with the RSS feed, or keep up with new posts on FB, or Twitter. We'll probably be expanding these a little bit in the near future too (flickr account for photos, etc.).
6. And - you can also get the last 10 topics daily by email - not sure if many people know about this - we have been stuck at the same 130 email readers for years it seems. You may want to check this option out if you don't use the other social networking items mentioned above.
