How early should we be at the airport before departure?

How early should we be at the airport before departure?

Flight leaves at 2:20PM. Our logistics allow us to be at the airport at either 8:30 AM (approx 6 hrs. prior to departure) OR 11:15 AM (3 hrs prior). I sure would like to not have to rise and shine at 6AM to be there 6 hrs early when 3 hours would be sufficient. We have check-in luggage. Any advice??

Allowing 3 hours should be plenty of time. We always allow 2 hours ahead for most flights and 2.5 hours for Caribbean flights.

yeah....3 hours is plenty...and you'll probably be giggling at how much time you have to kill....no worries!

Looks like we will be there about the same time next yr. :) What day are you arriving?

I would definitely go with the 11:15 arrival. With 3 hours even if there are longer lines you will most likely be at the gate with well over an hour to spare.
