Flights from West Palm or Ft Lauderdale May 2011?

Post by susan & herb »

I am trying to get a flight for my sister from either West Palm or Ft Lauderdale to ST John the beginning of May 2011. Most of the flights are either one or two stops.
Spirit Air has a cheap direct flight and if you join their 9 dollar club it looks like the flight is rediculously cheap.
Trouble is there is only one flight.

Does anyone in the Fla area have any experience with Spirit into St Thomas or any other suggestions?
Any help would be appreciated.

Susan

We fly to St Thomas via Ft lauderdale from Myrtle Beach on Spirit..We have never had any problems and the flights have always been on time. We are currently booked with them for our up coming trip..and I recently booked a trip to Niagara Falls with them for this May. Shame you have to buy the club membership to get the better price though..Ive always lucked out and not had to buy a membership..I needed a one way back to Myrtle for my son (we used airmiles from them to get him there) we paid 119+taxes for one way in June..If you dates are flexible you could wait and see if they toss out a coupon that might save some. Some dont like them and wont fly them..but its just a cpl hrs and it is non stop from Ft Lauderdale, no San Juan..or anything..and if thats the worse I have to do to be able to visit St John..is fly the cheapo airline..then I dont mind...:) also, she doesnt have to pay for a seat..unless she wants to choose one...Hope this helps...:)

I use SPIRIT for every flight from FLL to STT.
Knock on wood too, never have had an issue.
I belong to their 9.00 club and it really gives me good deals

Thanks for the positive info. on spirit air.

I am just a little concerned because it looks like there is only ONE flight a day to STT.

Hi Susan & Herb,
We are using Spirit for the first time in two weeks also crossing my fingers all goes well. We booked before the baggage fee changes and were grandfathered. just keep in mind your sister will pay for any and all bags. Not sure why you are concerned about the one flight , unless it's that you can't for some reason go ahead and book it now while you have availability? or is it that if there are problems with that flight that they can't provide another One? We booked ours 11 months in advance because my parents use Spirit to Bahamas and said the flights book up fast.

We are trying to set up a flight this week. Not sure when they will be coming down and for how long.

I was just concerned if they cancelled the one flight but everyone has said they have not had a problem.

Delano NJ, that was a new one for me. Had to look you guys up on the NJ map! We are in North West NJ, Morris County (mountains).

North west is a beautiful area of NJ. Delanco is a cute town, it sits where the Rancocas river meets the Delaware river in Burlington County. Hope you have a fantastic trip.
