What's your favorite snorkeling spot?

Just curious as our departure date creeps closer... what is your favorite snorkel? I love Waterlemon, but I know there are many we haven't tried. What's your can't miss spot?

Our favorite is Whistling Cay, and then the beach around the tip of Mary's Point. We did a 1/2 day trip out there, last time, and plan to make a day of it, next time.
We also love the right side of Francis, out to Mary's Point, and the point between Honeymoon and Salomon, and I like Salt Pond though many don't.

Minde – Do you get to Whistling Cay by kayak? If so how long does it take?

We liked Yawzi point and if you take a charter the Indians is a must!!

Our favorites are very weather dependent. So much so that some years we've missed them totally. But if it is calm on the north shore our fav is Haulover North west side. Next is Brown's Bay west side. Some years are better than others.

buffalo gal- We just did the kayak out to Whistling Cay from Maho Campgrounds. Nice easy kayak trip- maybe took 1/2 hr. Pulled up the kayak onto the rocky shore and spent a few hours out there. It was great and would def do it again.

Hi Suzi, I think I saw your post and was interested in that. We're not weaklings, but it looks like a good distance out to Whistling Cay. Do you think it's an excursion your average, ordinary couch potatoes could handle?

Question for everyone who likes the Yawzi Point snorkel.... there are sites that say you'll enjoy this most if you can free dive. I don't (so far), but is Yawzi Point still a great option? Please let me know. I have been intrigued by this snorkel for a couple of years.

Yes! If you can dingy out to Henley Cay, that snorkel is awesome!

Yawzi on STJ and Indians in BVI are our fav's......though I hate to mention Yawzi, nice to keep it uncrowded......maybe I change my mind, Yawzi stinks!

No, you don't need to free dive to enjoy Yawzi. In fact, since it takes a little effort to get there, its less crowded and less damaged. If you do free dive, there are a couple arches there to free dive under, but they aren't terribly easy.

An average, ordinary couch potato recommended it The paddle is not difficult. The man who rented us the kayaks at Maho told us what route to take on the return, to not have to fight the wind. It was not difficult at all.
I get a little wierded out, being in deep water, but it's fun to do things you're a little afraid of.
Keep your life vest on.
It's definitely worth it.
If you find a tank top on Whistling Kay that says "Great Blue Heron Music Festival," would you bring it back with you? It's Blaine's! We'd happily pay shipping or come up and get it.

ok, now my wife says no arches at Yawzi, am I getting old or something? Could have sworn there were arches there???

Haven't been there but I believe I read that there are caves at Yawzi.
