New ticker. Adjusted plans. Semper Gumby.
Well, I have a new ticker. One that, sadly, does not include a first week of vacay spent on Jost.
It's really funny how you think you have EVERYTHING all figured out and UNDER CONTROL and then the universe decides to let you know who REALLY is in charge.
Not willing to give up our vacay entirely, an adjustment seemed prudent. Ahhh... the best laid plans....
So we will be arriving on STJ on Dec 10 and staying through the 17th.
My apologies for not being able to catch up with those of you who will be on island the first week of December. Such is life.
For those of you who will be around while we're there I hope we can catch up with you!
I guess it all goes to show you why it's always good to be SEMPER GUMBY (always flexible).

Good to know that some other folks will be around!
Can't wait to make some new friends and see some old ones!
BTW - Quelle nightmare on changing airline tickets last night.
Great news is that the ticket prices were only $17 more; bad news is the airlines totally screw you on the "Change" fee. That fee pisses me off. It takes a few keystrokes and they want to gouge you.
Unfortunately the whole process was a PITA. Hubby had some twit on the phone who decided to get creative with our flights. When he had specifically asked that we get the same flights just a different start date (he knew they were available and there were plenty of seats). She said she would, charged us and then started rattling off completely different flights to him. Hubby was like, Uh NO.
Her incompetence continued so finally we had to get a supervisor involved. At least the supervisor realized what had happened, apologized, got us the flights we wanted and refunded our money. However it was three hours of our lives that we won't get back thankyouverymuch.
But what's done is done and we are back on schedule. Now I have to call the folks on Jost and cancel accomodations at Ivans and the car rental there. If any of you recall my adventures in MAKING the ressies for a car, I'm hoping that canceling will be just as interesting. Although admittedly I'd be happier with a little less drama in my life right now.
Deep cleansing breaths. So while the vacay change isn't ideal, it's certainly what's best and at least we can still get a vacay out of the whole scenario (albeit a shorter one!)
