Very small and compact

Post by mricco »

Does anyone know of a small fold up beach chair, I know of the kind that go in the sleeves but that is not small enough. It could maybe even be a type of camp chair. Reason being that we are staying on St Thomas and will be spending most of our time on St John and don't really want to rent each time. I know we can buy there but we will not have a car either (free trip).
Thanks

Small beach chairs

Hummm I'm wondering if Walmart St. Thomas might have something suitable for you? Maybe some other members might sign on who have made such a purchase. Good luck with your search. It's always helpful to inquire ahead of time.

As wonderful a shopping Mecca as STT is we happily do not have a Walmart yet - 2 Kmarts though.
Beach chairs are hit or miss at any of the stores it seems - sometimes yes, sometimes none.

Are you still state side? We picked up very compact camp chairs in Ace Hardware. Maybe past the season now however.

Did a quick search and found this- close? Doesn't look like you have to use the canopy.

No experience with it, though.

Good luck and congrats on the free trip!!

We have these chairs and they are really rugged and very easy to carry--we've had ours for years--we don't have the canopy attachment though....

We have the chairs without the canopy. I can't image carrying the canopy and if I had the thing it would be colloecting dust in my basement. These chairs are great. We've had our for years and they just keep on going.

we had the kelsyus chairs forever (6-7 years?)...finally left them behind in Hawaii, hoping a local would pick them up near the dumpster. they were just so beat up we didn't want to pay to check them, but they still worked, minus a screw or two!

those things are great, we just got some new ones the other day. I hope they are as good as our old ones.

Compact

Thanks, everyone for the info. We are doing just carry-on and was hoping to get something that would work for that. Time is an issue now. Does anyone know if the beach front chair rental store on Cinnamon is open? Can't remember the last time we were there if it was closed because of off season and the villa we rented from of course had chairs.

What about one of those fold up seats people use at the stadium? Put it on a neat sheet or towel to keep you out of the sand a little...
