An Update on Hubby's Health

Post by chicagoans »

You wonderful folks offered up your prayers and words of comfort, hope and support when you heard here about my DH being diagnosed with cancer.

I'm happy to say that today was Graduation Day! He had his last radiation treatment today. All together he had 2 rounds of chemo alone, 6 weeks of radiation M-F, and 2 more rounds of chemo during 2 of the weeks of radiation.

We have been buoyed by prayers, hugs, laughs, meals, cards, rides to the hospital, people walking our dog for us, etc. Oh yeah, and an emergency pickup today from the middle school when DS got sick and DH and I were both at the hospital.

DH will have follow up PET and CT scans in 8 - 10 weeks, so we are praying that those scans show that the cancer has been defeated. (They wait that long because the radiation damages skin, and any healing wounds can cause a false positive on the PET scan.)

Thank you all SO much for your many prayers and words of comfort. It truly means the world to me and DH.

If you are facing troubles of your own, please remember that you are not alone. Just say the word, and people near and far will hold you in their hearts and keep you in their prayers.

Never Give Up! Never Surrender!

We are all glad to hear the news. Keep those updates coming.

We look forward to spending some time together soon on the island or at least at Cheeseburger in Paradise.

It is very good to hear that the treatments are finished; sending best wishes for excellent scan reports and good days ahead. Take care of yourself - your path has not been easy either.
