Villa ideas--suggestions wanted

Post by liamsaunt »

For my next trip, I have very specific needs, and am thinking that someone might know of a house that is not on my radar. Here are the parameters:

Kids allowed (all above age 8 )

At least two bedrooms connected in the same pod internally--ideally connected to the main living pod.

Three bedrooms minimum, four ideal.

Pool. Any pool, even a Wally pool. No hot tub needed.

Not on Gifft Hill. Any other neighborhood is fine--Cruz or Coral.

$5K/week is the ideal maximum budget, off season.

3 adults, two kids.

Thanks!
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I don't know much about the Cruz Bay side. I generally look at Coral Bay, Bordeaux Mtn., Ajax Peak, Catherineberg,....
You probably know of all these, but on my list, with those requirements include.....
Casa Bueno
Villa Carolina
Estate Fortsberg
I know of a few more. I'll let you know when I come up with the names.

There have been a lot of threads on villas that are good for kids with interior access to at least 2 bedrooms. Not sure if your $5K budget is on or off season, but here are some that you may want to look at. Pricing on these is all over the map, but they have interior access bedrooms!

Croix Vista (caribbean villas)
Eden's Whim (seaview homes)
Villa Villekula (seaview homes)
Villa Promises Kept (seaview homes)
Crystal Seaview (catered to (I think))
Avalon (catered to)
Ristaba
Le Lapin

Forgot to add that Croix Vista and Promises kept have two living/family rooms -- may be good when you have kids along, they can watch their own shows, or be down with their parents on their own level with more living space. FYI - I haven't stayed in either, but they're on my list for future trips.

Hi Liamsaunt - I am curious about the criteria of not on Gifft Hill. We usually stay on Gifft Hill, so just wondering if there is something I need to know

What about Jazz Villa......
http://www.caribbeanvillas-stjohn.com/J ... Villa.html

Three bedrooms are a part of the main house.... 2 on the main floor...one down a set of inside stairs directly below one of the bedrooms.

The 4th bedroom is an outside entrance.

Hey There,
Consider La Papaya.
Great location, views, in budget, pool, hot tub, kid friendly, etc.
Best of luck.

Rental Villa

Take a look at www.seaturtlevilla.com. There is a video of the villa on the home page. There are two bedroom/bath suites with two adjoining areas with sleeping for the kids.

How about Beach Garden Villa? 4BR, bedrooms are connected to main pod, plus a very nice kitchen (even though you didn't ask for that). Slightly overbudget.

Have stayed at Villa Carolina 2X. There are two equal bedrooms on either side of the great room and a open staircase that goes down to the third bedroom which is actually the same size as the others with a patio. The third bedroom feels connected to the house not a dungeon.

Property is unusual as you can walk around the house. It is not off a cliff etc. Views are great and deck area is large and very comfy as is the house.

I have my eye on one which looks like it would meet all of your criteria, Villa Amani. I have had my eye on this one and even took a spin around to see it last trip. Everything I can see from the pictures and from the outside of the villa looks great! When I have the right size group, I will try it.

We had the same needs and picked Eaglesnest (VIVA). We been there a couple of times of times and like it. In Cruz on Contant point and laid out and priced just as you want. It's 3 not 4 bedrooms though.

Casa Bueno would fit the bill. Three bedrooms all accessed from the main living area. The fourth has an outside entrance from below and is not at all equal to the other three but would be good for an older child. Very nice pool (heated) and fabulous location and down-island view.
