Sunscreen Sensitivity

Post by Patty »

Can anyone recommend a sunscreen that works well for people with sensitivity to sunscreen? I have always used Neutrogena but this summer I got a really bad itchy rash from it so I can't use that one any more. I have had several basal cell spots removed so I need to be careful in the sun. I wear a long sleeved rash guard shirt but still need sunscreen protection on my legs. Any suggestions?

I also get a rash from reg. sunscreen.
I use a brand called Alba Botanica. I buy it at
Whole Foods, but I have seen it at Target.
Something more natural works best for me.

I get a rash from lots of sunscreens. For the longest time I thought it was sun poisining. Finally I switched to Coppertone Sport aerosol. Haven't had a rash since.

I hate sunscreen on my face because it always burns and itches, but I tried Water Babies 50 that someone had left in the villa last year and now I use it all the time!!

For the best protection, you could buy some long pant swim tights - rash guards for your legs.

Try California Baby sunscreen. It is expensive but worth it if you are sensitive to sunscreen. I use it on my daughter. She's very sensitive to sunscreens, especially on her face, and this stuff has never caused a problem.

I too have issues with sunscreen. It's especially a PITA when they keep putting it into makeup and other beauty products!

Anyway, I am a HUGE fan of the Key West Aloe products. Lots of natural aloe in them and for whatever reason their sunscreen doesn't give me any reaction.

I also like their after sun treatment and their sunburn products (in case you do get one) it heals it virtually overnight.

I use their sunscreens, too cool aloe spray and their save-a-tan.
