All packed and ready to go ...
Suitcases are packed, boarding passes are printed, reservations confirmed ... except for the private taxi which we hopefully we resolve before hitting STT tomorrow afternoon!
Hoping to do a different kind of live report ... STJ villa people roughing it at the STT Ritz Carlton for five nights
Early morning wake up call to make the drive to CLT for our direct flight to STT. DH is simply the best ... upgrading our FF tickets for first class tickets
Hoping the weather and mosquitoes cooperate

Sitting in the USAirways Club in CLT awaiting our boarding time (which is in about 20 minutes. Uneventful ride from the house to the airport ... very quiet through security and here in the club. Guess we missed the Saturday morning leisure travel group.
Our taxi driver on STT called while we were enroute to the airport and confirmed our pick up time
I really enjoyed your live reports SOonthebeach and will trip to carry on although it will be from STT.
Will make sure to wave while we pass you in air SOonthe beach

Greetings all live from our balcony at the Ritz overlooking Great Bay.
We had an eventful flight from CLT to STT ... we landed a few minutes early. After deplaning we then stopped for our customary coconut rum taster and then headed to baggage claim to collect our suitcases. Elvis, our taxi driver, was waiting for us and before we knew it we were zipping through Charlotte Amaile and to the Ritz.
There was absolutely NO traffic this Saturday afternoon even though Serenade of the Seas was docked at Havensight.
With a quick stop at the supermarket to pick up some sparkling water we were then on our way to the Ritz. Total travel time was about 30 minutes.
We arrived at the Ritz where we greeted with a lovely rum punch and taken by golf cart with our luggage to the Club Lounge for check in.
The lounge is lovely ... a fantastic view, two level outside porch and just about everything you could ask for in terms of service and food and beverage offerings.
While we checked in we grabbed a cold drink and then were escorted to our oceanview room. It was unbelievable warm when we entered the room even though the thermostat was set to 60F. Seems the chiller was down for the building but it was quickly repaired and the room is now a very comfy 70F
After quickly unpacking and changing into bathing suits and cover ups we headed back to the lounge to make reservations for a Sunset Sail on the the Lady Lynsey for Sunday ($75) per person for a 90-minute cruise with full open bar and enough appetizers to call it dinner).
We then took a stroll around the property, first walking along the beach and then heading to the infinity pool. The water and air temp were exactly the same, 85F, with no breeze ... I mean nada!! We grabbed a couple of floats and bobbed around the pool as we watched the lights of STJ come on ... quite a different sight for us to see as we are used to watching the lights of STT come on from STJ! Nonetheless it was beautiful.
After drying off we headed to the Great Bay Lounge to grab a lobster pizza for the three of us to share. It was good although two out of three of us had upset stomachs the next day.
A ride back to the Club Lounge and we had an after dinner drink and some lovely desserts.
We headed back to our room ... exhausted and happy to be in the islands!

Just a quick check in from the terrace at the Club lounge (have to love free wireless!). A quick but drenching shower chased us from the pool to this lovely spot! Almost like being on the terrace of some of our STJ villas ... except no pool ... and we have to share ... but no one is here but us
I have photos to post once I upload them I will share!
