NEW gas station....soon come?

Post by stjohnjulie »

Yesterday I saw an article on the St. John Source about a new gas station & convenience store in the works. They plan to put it where Centerline Concrete used to be, about 3 miles or so up Centerline. It is to be called Bunjix, and will be a self serve kind of place. You can read the article here: http://stjohnsource.com/content/news/lo ... ks-st-john

They have to get the area rezoned, but they say they already have the plans and funding in place. Hmmm....wonder how long all this is going to take?

As much as I'd like another gas station, this is as lousy a location as I can think of, right at the top of the largest watershed on the island. I will be vocally opposed.

hugo, can you explain a little more? I was thinking it would be a good spot, but then again, I don't know about what kind of impact it may have on the environment. Can you enlighten me? The watershed...is this the reason they are planning above ground holding tanks? Thought that was a little "different" when I read it.
