If you could watch me type, you'd know just how hard it was. I am a horrid typist...these take me forever to write

I think you should rename the trip
"Thanks to Xislandgirl, our trip was awesome!"

Just kidding. I am so happy that you had a great time and even happier that you enjoyed Morgan Point!

OK - I read the whole thing.

Do I get a prize?

How about a piece of cake?

Good job - I still haven't finished my trip report, and I had a one week head start on you.

Congratulations/condolences on Schmuppie getting hooked on STJ. That kind of validates my decision to not introduce the island to my kids until they were much closer to the age where they'll have to finance their own trips down.

Good call on the pulled pork.

Love the way you write, pip. Who needs a ticker when I have this to read! Finished travel day 1. I'm exhausted and excited to start vacation! LESDOTHIS.

But damn, a ticker would be nice. Sigh..

25 employees are in danger of not getting their paychecks on time because I spent the morning reading your report.

Off to read the uneditted version. Will comment later.

What an adventure! I am glad you had a smoother trip than last time. I don't think I am going to want a piece of chocolate cake anytime soon though...
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I think you misunderstood me. I said:
So glad this year was better than your last visit! But that wasn't THAT hard to do now was it?

I know the TR was hard to do ... appreciate the effort!

Thanks for the report! I do enjoy seeing/reading how differently people spend their days. I particularly loved your recount of the day with Captain Phil and Tarn-- special people.

My favorite quote, however, was "Thank the Maker for Deli Grotto." Indeed.

1: last names fixed...thanks for noticing. I expect my lifetime subscription (paid by receiver) to Cat Fancy any day now.

2: Marriott wrote back and is giving me both offers. They say that they made them, so they won't recant one.

that's a profit of 35,000 points for the trip.

Holy Crap!

In seconds, the sky turned black and we were in the middle of a serious tropical downpour. We put our masks on to avoid splash back and sat in the water as it poured on us. Naturally, the kids all thought this was TOTALLY AWESOME and used the rain as an excuse to stay in the water for longer.

just wanted to add an illustration :D

my cooler was 47lbs too, and the hotdogs were left in the villa freezer in hopes of future buns.

i'm glad you guys had such a great time, except for the flight delay, the puking, and the marriot, lol!

thanks for the fun-filled report,

As I posted about many times - we are HUGE Christopher/Dohm's fans. Yes, it costs more but I have not doubt our group could likely binge-drink the difference while waiting for the next ferry. Also, we are the type that doesn't start relaxing until there is no more movement, we dont' "arrive" until we are seated at the villa.

My favorite quote - Note to people reading this who have not been to St John: If you cannot handle an island that may, on occasion, run out of hot dog rolls, please stay on St Thomas. St John may not be for you.

So glad the little one liked her Capt Phil day. I really regret not making time for that.

I know some people swear by Salt Pond but seriously, walking back up in the heat in January nearly did me in. All of us, even the way-too-healthy-and-fit ones. It had to have been a death march for you.

Your Marriott expereince and letter writing campaign? You are my kind of guy!

Read the whole thing. You really have a way with words. Hope to find the unedited version.

Having spent the first 31 years of my life there...I know.

You'll notice where Vinnie came from. Then you'll agree.
