I have it on my watch list. It is for Monday, May 7, 2007 to Monday, May 14, 2007, so it's coming up quickly.

There is also a guy auctioning off a gift certificate for the Westin.

I thought about bidding on it but I sent him an e-mail and received a pretty rude reply and after that he edited his listing and basically in the listing he says he is too busy to answer questions

There was also someone offering a 7 day stay at the Westin Villas, December 15-22, in a particular unit (don't remember which one, but it had a private pool).

But It Now price was $5K and minimum bid was $4K

I would avoid any big ticket items where the seller claims to be away and cannot answer questions...

Yeah... After I received the terse reply from him and looked his changes to the listing I sent him another message telling him that I may have bid on it until I saw the modified listing. He never replied

Yeah, the Lindholm auction also looks dodgy... it never actually states anywhere in the description what you are actually bidding for. Never bid for anything unless it states explicitly what you are bidding for.

Not only that, what's up with the $5 shipping? My guess is you're probably going to win someone's reservation sans payment.

I'd avoid both. Seriously, Lindholm books up so fast I'm sure if you had to cancel there's probably someone waiting to take your spot. No need to ebay it.

I'm not sure but I don't think you pay up front at Lindholm - you send a deposit and pay the balance when you are there - at least I think that's what we did when we stayed there before we moved down - again I'm not sure but it sounds alittle "fishy" to me but if you are really interested I would call Lauren and check if that week has already been pre paid for in the "seller's" name.

I can confirm with Pia (we'll be staying there the week after next and stayed there two years ago), you pay half up front and half when you leave.

I was curious about the auction for the week at Estate Lindholkm so i e-mailed the seller asking if the week was pre-paid. Here's the response...
I bought and paid for that week. It was at a school charity function. I have the week of May 7th to May 14th reserved. No, I cannot go, so I am trying to sell it on ebay.
So... I e-mailed Lauren at Estate Lindholm to verify that this was true and here is her response...
I am not honoring that gift certificate that is on ebay. The gift certificate was given to charity as a charitable donation. This person is trying to make a profit from it and using it in an ill-will manner.
I've reported the auction to eBay so hopefully no one will get burned.
