Late Flight from STT..What to do??
Hi all. Family trip to STJ this week, having an awesome time.
Thinking about the rest of the week and pondered about our late flight out of STT on Saturday (4:55 PM). Check out @ the Villa is @ 10 AM. Family wants to shop a bit in STT. We don't want to mess with the luggage...Out of curiosity is there any place we can stow it?? Can we check it in @ the airport and then hit STT??
Thoughts...idea??? Thanks in advance...Off to Lime Inn.

You can't check you luggage in at the airport and then take off for town. That I know. I think you're best bet is to ask the taxi guy to keep you luggage in the van and pick you up at a determined time and place to go to the airpot. I'm told that the taxis will do that but I've never had a late flight myself.

Our last two trips we have had the US Air 4:55 pm departure flight. What we have done is have a private taxi pick us up at Red Hook at 11:20 am and take us to Charlotte Amalie. The private taxi keeps out luggage while we meander around CA and have lunch at Gladys's Restaurant. The private taxi then picks up up about 2:30-3:00 and takes us to the airport.
In April Carnival was going on and we were able to abosrb some of it. This last trip we did a little shopping, but enjoyed Gladys's as we never had. The two teens traveling with us even had their picture taken with Gladys.

The Visitor's Center on St. Thomas(in the yellow building with blue shutters directly across the street from from the Charlotte Amalie ferry dock) will hold your baggage for a small fee. I think it's around $3 per bag. The ladies who work there are very nice and will also call a reliable taxi for you if you need one. It's extremely convenient because it's right on the main drag close to the shopping. The entrance is on the side street... on the right side of the building (as you cross the street from the ferry)directly across from the parking lot where the outdoor vendors booths are set up. I've never felt comfortable leaving my luggage with one of the taxi drivers since I don't know exactly where it's going to be kept. I like knowing that it will be kept in an air conditioned room out of sight!
