When did Meijer's stop carrying it? That used to be the only place I got it in Michigan -- it was cheapest there.

Secondly, your best bet is to go to your local liquor store where you frequently do business and ask them to carry it.

I am not sure about all the exact laws and statutes, but in another life several years ago, I worked with the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers Association, and I think it's illegal to ship spirits over state lines. I think that could be the problem with getting a place that has it to ship it to you.

As a sidenote, I had noticed orange missing lately but I didn't know it was because it was gone for good. That kills me.

Oh, P.S. Cruzan has switched hands a few times since I did this, but once I was looking for something specific and I couldn't find it and I just emailed them and asked them which stores in my area sold their products and they were able to provide me with a list. At a minimum, they should be able to refer you to the distributor for your area, who would then be able to tell you what stores they sell to.

This month's Bon Apetit magazine has a recipe for a rum punch made with Cruzan blackstrap. It looks really tasty.

Cruzan in all flavors is widely available around here. I am more excited about the fact that we can buy the Virgin Islands Brewing Company beers at my favorite local liquor store.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

A semi thread hijack.... (Is it still considered a hijack if its your topic?)

Has anyone else (because we know liamsaunt has) been successful finding Virgin Islands beer at home?

Hey XIslandGirl...we need a name for that drink! It sounds so good. Is it equal parts of everything?

Happy drinking!
