Taking the Ferry to Jost questions

Post by Iluvstjohn »

I know this has been mentioned before, but seeing that I am 10 days out...I am trying to figure out what days we "need" to do certain things. We were planning on taking the ferry to Jost one day this trip. The schedule says it goes M/T/ F/S/S.....

Is that true for the summer time as well? Anyone go recently or know of the summer schedule?

thanks Pia!

Silly question....do the bars/restaurants on Jost take credit cards or are they cash only? You'd think I would know this by now....many trips to there...but we can't remember...(maybe too many pain killers) LOL

So glad I saw this! Will be taking the ferry Friday, I guess. Headed out with Captain John next Monday, but wanted to get a little more Jost time another day- Friday it is- thanks Pia! We want to come and say hello when we're there!

Not to make it harder JJ, but my kids (10 and 6) looooooooove Jost. They would kill us if we didn't spend a good amount of time there. Take our Christmas shots next week from White Bay with STJ in the background!

lluv- we take a picture on island every year- it's become our card tradition! We always go in August so that makes it easy..... one year it was on Cinnamon, one year on a boat, last year was on Solomon- this year on White Bay! Hawksnest is another must do- maybe next year!

RE: Credit Cards on Jost.

IIRC I have used CC's at:

One Love, Sydneys, Soggy Dollar, Foxy's, Ali Babbas and Harris Place. Several of these take Amex in addition to VISA and MC. I didn't ask at Christines bakery.

Merchant shops all seemed set up to take CC's.

Abe & Nice's car rental take CC's (they don't take Amex)

I found that many merchants on island take CC's because there is no ATM on island and they want to keep biz flowing.

Hope that helps a bit.
*Another fine scatterbrained production
