Palm Island, Grenadines

Has anyone been? If so, what is it like or any of the Grendine Islands? We like St John because it is so casual. We love to snorkle, drive around and explore things to see and do. I will not bring heels or a dress on vacation. Of course when we are on Jost I'm fine sitting at White Bay. After 11 trips to STJ, looking for something different. I know a little about St. Martin and Barbados. Any suggestions appreciated.

I visited Palm Island 5 years ago by private boat - it was very small as I remember about 40 cottages for guests - no other development - some beautiful white sand beaches, very private - It looked to be a peaceful and casual resort type experience. There are many other Grenadine Islands within close boat range from there and day trips off island seemed to be a common activity - I saw Palm Island excursions somewhere every day while I was exploring the other islands nearby.

We went to Palm Island for our honeymoon in November 2008. I've stayed on Tortola, Grand Cayman, St. John, St. Lucia, Jamaica, Barbados, Aruba, and St. Martin. This place was my all time favorite and cannot wait to go back. It was so relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful. There are no cars but the resort has bikes to explore the island and get to the other beaches. There are also hiking trails and hammocks at all of the beaches. Their activities include a day sail to the Tobago Cays where you can swim at the turtle reserve. There is also lots of snorkeling off of beaches. You can take a day trip to St. Vincent. This island is really a place to go if you do not like crowds and want to relax. If you have an specific questions please let me know.
