I know it's hard to say when you'll be where while on vacation, but while I am basking in the warm fuzzy glow of Jorge's recent post about what a nice group of people this is, I'd like to extend an invitation. I know, I know, I didn't manage to follow through with meeting forum members LAST time I was there, but I think I can do better this time.

Although we have varying arrival and departure dates, looks like a pretty good sized group of us will be there the weekend of May 27. I know there is about a 99% chance my crew will be at the Beach Bar late Sunday afternoon. I'd love to meet any of you who may be there as well.

Doesn't look like many of you posted pics on the old "Show your Face" post (only Liamsaunt and Robncindi), so you either have to do it here, or wear your fabulous new forum t-shirt (if Anthony EVER gets them on here for sale...I am still waiting.....

).

Obsessedmuch - I think it's time you outed yourself. I can feel that you are dying to , so let's have it!

(This coming from the girl who is FAR too free with her personal information...I am a case of identity theft just WAITING to happen). I hope we'll be able to meet up while we are there and say "hello." I don't know what time you'll be arriving on the 23rd, but we also arrive on the 23rd and will get there before the rest of our group. We will be picking them up at the ferry, so we plan to hang out at the Beach Bar from about 8:00 pm until they show up (9:20, 10:20, or 11:20...just depends!). If you can stop by, do! If it's closer to 8:00, look for us down near the beach somewhere in our own chairs or at a table. If it's closer to 10:00, that means we've been there waiting and drinking for a couple of hours, so look for us face down in the sand somewhere.

LOL! How can I ignore something like that?!

I'd love to meet up with you, of course! I actually think there was a mistake (likely on my part) on the calendar as I won't arrive until the 24th. But Sunday at the Beach Bar sounds great!

I will post a pic, as well. I'll do it from home later as a) I am at work (working very hard right now) and b) I have to figure out how the heck to do that!

Thanks for the shoutout- now who else is going to join in?

YIPEE!!! I was going to post something about a forum get together at the Beach Bar on Sunday, May 27th...........glad you took care of it Vicki!!

We get on Island on Saturday, so Sunday the 27th is PERFECT!! I think last time we met around 4pm and were lucky to get a table AND chairs on the beach!!

Mike & I will look forward to meeting any and all of you. There are plenty of us on Island that Sunday, hopefully we can meet for some jazz jamming and painkillers!!!

Vicki, it will be good to meet you!!! Let's keep in touch!

I will definitely try and talk John into stopping by! I have to tell you, though, that he does not read this forum and he finds it a little weird that I am on here talking to you guys all the time. I don't know why--he has his AVS forums that he goes and blabs on. Frankly, I think beach talk is MUCH more interesting than discussion of the latest HD gizmo thingamabob.

Wait, I am confused--is it going to be the 23rd or the 27th? If it is the 27th I definitely cannot join you--that's the day my parents are coming over from STT to meet up with us.

Jan - I love your enthusiasm! This is so embarrassing to admit, but I was sitting at the table next to all of you forumites at the Sunday Beach Bar gathering back in December. I was just too shy to say, "hello."

Liamsaunt - Matt and I will be at the Beach Bar on the night of the 23rd waiting for the rest of our group, but the "official" gathering I guess will be on the 27th. My husband thinks I'm a nut too, so he and your husband would probably hit it off! They could just sit there and roll their eyes and talk about how weird we are.

So I went and checked my reservation records and I had the date wrong--my parents are coming over on the 28th, not the 27th. So, maybe we could make it to the "official" gathering after all. We are moving around so much this trip I can't remember where we are going to be when!

Liamsaunt - This is so GREAT, will be wonderful to meet up with you guys!:P My hubby would have been fine to always go to STJ without meeting anyone. But now he looks forward to it! He had made some good friends through the forum gatherings, some we see while off island. So you just never know what might happen....

We'll keep in touch about the 27th!!!!

A bunch of us will be there this month and have planned a Beach Bar meeting as well. "The Shopper" and I are making name tags for everyone so that we can recognize one another. Thought you might like to see them.....

My wife thinks I'm weird because I participate in forums like this and the BBQ Brethren BBQ site (www.bbq-brethen.com) and even weirder that I meet people from the forums. I think she would kill me if I showed up with a name tag!

They are nice, Michele... You may want something a touch more manly for the guys

Bug - those name tags are great. I am trying to imagine the look on my husband's face if I handed him something like that and told him he needed to wear it to the Beach Bar!
