You might want to consider Grande Bay condos. They are within walking distance to everything, have awesome views and a nice pool. We have stayed there twice and love it. We have rented from these folks because they have an excellent unit, perfect for two people: www.stjohnescape.com.

Gallows Point would be my choice but without the time of year and your budget, it is hard to make suggestions. There are not may stand alone villas right in Cruz Bay, but plenty of great condos if that works for you.

Remember that you will need to drive to all the great beaches, so if you don't rent a car, you will need to rely on taxis.

My friend just returned from a stay at the Grande bay Resort there in Cruz bay. They loved it. They did not rent a car .

If you really want to be close to town,my brother and his friend stayed at the Crow's Nest on top of Wharfside last month. We wnt by one night to see them and it was really nice.Small but nice. You could stumble upstairs at night from the Beach Bar.

I second what Bev says, Lavender Hills.
