Parasheet--Neat Sheet alternative

Post by liamsaunt »

So here is my usvi tip for the day while I wait for John to wake up.

I could not find a neat sheet anywhere to bring for this trip, so I ended up buying a parasheet. I love it! It is much lighter and way less bulky than the neat sheet, it has pockets on each corner than you can fill with sand to hold it down, it repels water and sand--sand better than the neat sheet does, and they come in lots of funky colors. It also has an attached bag that you can fit the wrapped up sheet into. Here's a link to them on amazon:

I also saw them for sale at Big Planet in Mongoose but of course they are more expensive there.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

What a great product. I guess I was a bit ahead of the curve. I actually had 3 "parasheets" made up about 12 years ago They are a bit crude compared to these but I bought some parachute fabric and had them made up into 2 small and 1 large sheet with gromits along the sides and at the corners. They are super light weight and repel sand and water very nicely. I take them traveling wherever I go and have used them during long layovers in airports to spred on the floor. I've actually taken a nap waiting for flights.
