Villas with honor bars?

Post by toni »

The "what do you leave at the villa" thread got me wondering-what villas have you stayed at that had honor bars? I think it's a great idea, and wish more places would do it. Maybe I should be more paranoid about opened liquor bottles? But I'm not!

St. John Passion did when we were there several years ago. If I remember correctly there were 4 or 5 bottles and a note stating that if you drank up something to buy a replacement. There were even drink recipes listed that people who'd stayed there had made.

I think Sago Cottage had this too, but that's going back even farther.

Anybody else have this at places?

Last time we stayed in a villa was Argonauta. There wasn't a note to replace but there was a nice selection of libations in the pantry. We enjoyed and replaced some and wisely avoided others. Had to pass on the Jägermeister. It's a wonder I survived college and nothing good can come from that walk down memory lane.

We wanted to leave the pantry a little nicer than we found it so we did.

Jager on a below zero, walking down from campus night was bad enough. I can't imagine drinking Jager in the tropics. Blah!
