Moving on to restaurants and bars...

Post by kristen1206 »

Definitely plan to hit Rhumb Lines and Crazy Cracker's (or Dog House as I believe the restuarant part is called now)again. Maybe Lime Inn. Going to pass on Morgan's Mango. Want to try Shipwreck Landing this time and maybe Waterfront Bistro.

Any not to miss restaurants you all would recommend?

As far as bars...Also Woodies was too crowded for us to enjoy last time (high season) so will give that another shot and we never even made it to the Beach Bar! but it is definitely on my list. And the Balcony. Love that place for drinks and sunsets. We had the best time at Crazy Cracker's so will definitely head downstairs after dinner.

Assuming Skinny Legs is also on your do-not-miss-list.

yes, yes. Skinny legs for a great burger. Aside the horrendous (not just island time) service we had last time, will definitely be back. Love the shop there too.

Tourist Trap for lunch (Salt Pond) and/or Miss Vies for lunch (East End)

We also like Aqua Bistro, Sweet Plaintains and Island Blues (Coral Bay Area).

ZoZo's if you want a higher end dinner.

Joes or Candi's BBQ for carry out dinner to the villa.
*Another fine scatterbrained production

Beach Bar is my go to bar - love it there!

Banana Deck has excellent lunches and dinners.

Our favorite dinner in May was La Plancha Del Mer in the Starfish complex. Yum! My husband loved their Paella (sp?) and I loved their chocoate caramel waffle dessert - it was to die for! The location is not scenic but well worth it.

Have a fantastic trip.

Agree with Nancy on The Beach Bar. Seeing it seems we stalk each other every May. Hi Nancy, Hi Ron nice seeing you here.

For a nice dinner and atmosphere, I recommend the Equator at Caneel. Shipwreck Landing and Skinny's are always a "must" for us and we enjoy the food at la Plancha del Mar. Their sangria is soooo good so be sure to try it.

I love sangria. Where is Plancha Del Mar?

la Planch is in the Marketplace on the second floor (above Starfish Market) next to the drug store. There is no view except for the artwork on the walls but the food is sooooo good and the sangria is the best I've ever had anywhere.

some of the best food comes from the places with the least amount of ambiance! :) Will definitely check it out.

A place that is rarely mentioned on this forum is The Quiet Mon. I love to sit on their balcony and people watch and enjoy a few rum punch and watch the goings on down at Woodys without being in the fray of it all.

Risking being mighty repetitive- but Beach Bar, Beach Bar, Beach Bar- best bar on the island imho. We go there every trip, multiple times. Sit near the edge and watch the kids play on the beach- they love it as much as we do!

And of COURSE Skinny's- give it another shot!
