I don't like

Post by Bandit »

The Parking situation in Cruz Bay aggravates me. Signage of public parking areas could be alot better and it wouldn't hurt if enforcement was better. It seems that I notice locals/taxis/etc parking in Public Parking Lots when they have a massive number of their own spaces.

Driving to the beach and lugging chairs around. I hate to schlep stuff from place to place, though the reward of an empty Maho Bay is worth it.

damn, I tried really hard, but I swear I can't think of a thing other than maybe that it is a little expensive, but I guess I wouldn't be on my 9th trip if I didn't like it!!!!

The high tech security gate at the dock and the smell of the skinny legs bathroom.

I hate the fact that I can't get there as often as I want. I also hate it that I have to work to pay for the next trip!! If only I could win the lottery!!

It's a pain in the butt (and expensive) to get there.

Mosquitoes.

I hate when the pool is too cold to use it (but not really St. John's problem).

I hate when Trunk Bay is crowded.

I hate the roads. They scare the beejeebies out of me.

There isn't much I don't like, but it is definitely not the right vacation choice for everyone.

Amen to that. 36 hours to get there for me. I really wish that I could reach St John the same day I start and not being forced to overnight on the way.

I don't like the traffic in Cruz Bay.

It drives me nuts when the mosquitoes bite me in places I can't reach! It would also be nice if the sun didn't set so early so I could enjoy the view longer. I get annoyed when people drive like maniacs! I was passed on a mountain road when I was already going 5 over the limit... it terrified me!
It's a magical place that can relax the stressed and make the sad feel a peace!
Sadly, I am tickerless :(

For those of us who don't feel comfortable driving on STT or STJ - I HATE the taxi rates. I think it is crazy to pay such a high rate per person, per destination. I guess that is part of the reason I stay on STT at Sapphire Beach. I can choose to walk out the door and be on a beautiful beach. The dollar taxi will get us to Red Hook. It costs more to get back but at least it is a little break in 1 direction. Other than that, I absolutely love everything else about being there and feeling so at peace and happy :) We're thinking of staying on STJ next trip, but it will most likely be walkable to Cruz Bay and taxi's to the beaches.

Tess's Dad hit on a pretty good "downer"; the bathrooms at some bars/restaurants are not well maintained. I understand the whole water situation, but some of those places are just downright nasty.
Other than that, people leaving trash, cigarette butts, etc... on beaches. Clean up after yourself, people!!!
People(fellow tourists and locals alike) who drive too fast make me nuts. Also tourists who overly complain about "island time", and not being patient while waiting for service in bars/restaurants. Honestly, the past few trips involved some of the fastest service that I've had on STJ.Sure, there are some rude bartenders who clearly chose the wrong profession, but I'm a very patient customer, and as someone else pointed out, don't mind "limin'" and enjoying the views while the drinks find their way to me. Hell, order 2 at a time if you don't want to wait!
That's all I can really come up with...

The way my hair gets so frizzy when I'm there. Other than that, I'm good!
