We have not stayed at either place ..however we are booked with Serendip and I cant tell you how great Ted has been to work with us...SUPER SUPER nice guy. For us is was a little less expensive because the kids were free...That may not be an issue for you...but it was the turning factor for us as we saved about 70 bucks a night over Cruz Views which came out to about 560.00. We had to reschedule ,thanks to Spirit's strike and when I called he was happy to reschedule and help anyway he could. We just look for something comfortable and clean as we are not in the villa, condo, etc. that much anyway..and if I can find something for 1200 instead of 2400 that means 2 trips instead of one..
If you are not in a hurry to book, I can send you a full report when we return..

We spent a week at Cruz Views last December . . . in unit #7, like Pianogrl did. We felt it was a good deal, even though it was the slightly more expensive 1-BR unit there (#10, a 2-BR unit, is also slightly higher priced). We did visit another 1-BR unit, #1, and felt that it needed updating. This is probably true of most of the units at Cruz Views.
Another poster on this board made the comment that unit #1 gets hot in the afternoon. I believe it; #7 would also get hot if you didn't pull the curtains closed. Units at Cruz Views face west, so with the fabulous view of STT comes the intense afternoon sun.
One advantage that Cruz Views offers over Serendip: the opportunity to walk to/from Cruz Bay. We did this every night. Yes, it's a steep hill -- I stopped 3-4 times on the way up -- but it is do-able, depending on how "senior" you are. Since you are budget-focused, this means that you MIGHT be able to avoid renting a car.
Good luck!

We are booked at Serendip in December, and yes Ted was awesome to work with. Made is easy. Last year we stayed at Unicorn out on Fish Bay, boy that was awesome, but we choose Serendip as it was 1/3 of the cost and if the internet pictures are what it is, we will be extremely happy!!! Hope we have some fun neighbors the week of Dec 5th thru the 12th.
