Day 8 a Day Late from Bert
Day 8 a Day Late from Bert
This is the day we’ve been waiting for! A day on the water with Capt. John Brandi and Palm Tree Charters! What a great day! Capt John picked us up at the National Park Dock at the prescribed time, we filled out our customs forms, and we were off!
Capt. John:
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/73 ... site"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBi3R ... 3.JPG"></a>
We wanted to do some primo snorkeling, so the captain took us first to Waterlemon Cay. Well, not really the cay, but along the trail to the cay. A place not really accessable by shore, but great entry off of a boat. The snorkeling was wonderful! Huge fans, huge Angels……I cannot put all of the photos on this report, but I’ll make them available after I get homs and put them in some sort of order. Another note, all the underwater pix were taken with our Canon D-10 we got just before our trip. They are unretouched, so when I get to my computer at home, they will be much better.
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/30 ... site"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBits ... 8.JPG"></a>
After Waterlemon, we hit the Indians. Always a great snorkel stop. Jumped in and saw this guy:
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/io ... site"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBits ... 3.JPG"></a>
We then headed for lunch. Never been to Pirates Bight, so off we went! We always try to hit places we’ve never been, there are so many!
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/KG ... site"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBizy ... 4.JPG"></a>
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/jj ... site"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBizz ... 9.JPG"></a>
If you ever have a chance to eat lunch at the Bight, do it! The background is to die for, and you have some pretty interesting dining companions:
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/mj ... site"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBizz ... 5.JPG"></a>
After a wonderful lunch, we headed to Smuggler’s Cove for some beach time and a blended drink on the beach made by Stevie. He runs the blender off of his car battery since there is no electricity:
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/jO ... site"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBits ... 0.JPG"></a>
THEN…Off to Soggy Dollar! No trip is complete without hitting Soggy Dollar for Pain Killers and noodling!
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/xo ... site"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBizy ... 9.JPG"></a>
Holding on to the Painkiller is a challenge whilst noodling, but worth it!
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/v_ ... site"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBi3R ... 4.JPG"></a>
Caribert’s Posse noodling at White Bay:
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/ZJ ... site"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBi3Q ... 7.JPG"></a>
Like all good things, this too had to come to an end:
THE END…of White Bay
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Zw ... site"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBi3R ... 5.JPG"></a>
Capt. John Brandi is one of those people who is instantly liked and trusted. I just want to send out a big THANK YOU for our day on the water, and I look forward to many, many, more! Trust me on this one, if you want a well organized wonderful day trip, call Sue at Palm Tree Charters!
Thanks John

A quick stop for ribs at Uncle Joes, back to the villa, pool time, adult beverage time, and time to say good night to another perfect day in Paradise!
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/44 ... site"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBi3R ... 4.JPG"></a>
Our last full day begins today…Boooooooo…..

Hi Bert~
Sounds like a perfect day you had out with Captain John! I don't mind at all that this report was a day late...I don't know how you were able to post daily as you did. I think I may find that to be a real challenge...to give up some STJ time to send daily posts!
I can't wait to have my chance at it next week!
Enjoy your last day in paradise my new forum friend!
Best,
Jo

Loving your live reports, Bert. Thank you!
We tried Pirates Bight for the first time in May. We LOVED it! We actually went twice. Great food, fun huge games (Jenga and Connect 4) and a great little beach. Such a fun spot! I couldn't believe I hadn't made it there before.
Boat days are always the best days!
