Varlack Ventures

Post by edsfam »

Has anyone had any recent experience with Varlack Ventures jeep rental. They are located across the street from Connections in Cruz Bay. I am just wondering about the quality/age of their vehicles and the odds of finding parking in their lot in the evening in Cruz Bay.

Thanks for any info.

We used them a few years ago and they were fine. Their vehicles may have been older than some of the agencies but that was fine with us, and they didn't have any crazy rules about not bringing back any sand in your rental!! Their parking was limited to the area in front of their shop but since we were there in off-season it was never a problem.

I second going with a rental company that doesn't have the no-sand rule. I don't like to vacuum on vacation.

I have used Varlack my last 3-4 trips to STJ. I believe I have had the same vehicle each time as we always need the 7 passenger. It is a bit beat up but it gets us where we need to go. They have never pushed the no sand rule at me but I vacuum the vehicle out on the last morning just because I am a bit OCD about leaving things clean and neat after I have used them. Jeannie at Varlack has always been a sweetheart to me. They also seem to be priced a bit lower than some of the other companies. Good luck with whoever you use. Have fun!
