That funny little....
step when you access the ocean. Some beaches have like a step when you are knee deep at the beach and I have a heck of a time not falling when getting out of the water because of it.
Are there any beaches that have more of a zero entry than others (in other words, less of a step). Can you name the easier access beaches?
Thanks!
Thanks!

My Father has back and knee issues, so takes his cane in the water with him. Little Lameshur was hard for him. Here are the ones that worked for him.
Oppenheimer/Gibney on the right side.
Francis Bay in the middle of the beach, the left side has a step.
Hawksnest all the way to the right.
Trunk to the left.
Cheers, RickG

Since my accident three years ago I have great difficulty getting out of the water. Some of you may know me by my "floating cane". I use my cane to get into the water, and then attach it with 2 rubber bands to my noodle. I detach the rubber bands and use it again when getting out. If I actually had 2 canes it would be even easier. A walker does not provide the same stability, as I can put the canes behind me as I go, almost like ski poles.
I agree that Maho is the best beach for me. I also have a lot of luch at Cinnamon, and can usually get in at Trunk right in front of the island, very near the lifeguard.
On our trip in January, an elderly gent was stuck in the water at Francis, and, despite the assistance of many people, as well as the use of my walker, he did injure a leg getting out. I didnt even give it a try that day, although I found it easy 2 years ago, and could actually walk almost the entire length of the beach from end to end in the waist deep water. I had no luck at Hawksnest, my favorite beach. On all but one trip I had easy access at Caneel main beach.
If the Christmas winds are blowing and there are north shore swells, the beach is out for me, as I find that the swells actually create the ledge. I'm even thinking that winter trips will be out for us for awhile as the swells are a "crap shoot" all winter. But there is very little that can keep me from paradise, even if I have to just sit on the beach and use the villa pool.
