I want to visit Water Island -- got some questions here
I want to take a trip over to Water Island -- I'd like to get the full experience in a short excursion. Here are my questions
1: How do I get there?
2: How much does it cost to get there? Options?
3: How do you get around while there?
4: What is there to see while there?
5: What should I not miss visiting while there?
6: Is there a good food spot there?
7: How long will it take me to see "everything" that matters?
8: How do I get back?

1: How do I get there? Take the little water taxi from a slip by Tickles Dockside pub on St. Thomas.
2: How much does it cost to get there? Options? Maybe $5 - $10 I think it may be listed under the St. Thomas tab above under taxi rates.
3: How do you get around while there? by foot or golf cart - which you would obtain if you rented a villa there.
4: What is there to see while there? a 75 year old man with a beer belly in a tiny yellow speedo! Seriously, that is the first thing that always comes to mind for me! Also, little girls selling their "wears" & live conch in the water at Honeymoon beach.
5: What should I not miss visiting while there? I think there may be a trail or two to see.
6: Is there a good food spot there? Heidi's on the beach is good (all I tried) otherwise I think there is only 2 other spots???
7: How long will it take me to see "everything" that matters? ??
8: How do I get back? Dome's water taxi same boat that got you there.
This is a spot that I had higher expectations for and was a little disappointed. Some people love it though. We met a family that goes there to the same spot every year and love the feel of this island. The one "commune" place that you walk past to get to the beach though, was "interesting". In addition to the big banana sling man that scared my 7 year old! That actually was quite humorous! The beach was beautiful though. I would have liked to look around more, but the tops of my feet got sunburned! There is also a booze cruise that drops people off for about 4 hrs during the day too, but that may not be every day. I would say it is worth giving it a try. Everyone has their own experiences. Plus then you can say you did it. I would like to give it another try but my husband doesn't think we need to. Hope this helps.
