Good Photo Printing Site?

Post by Teresa_Rae »

I'd like to frame some larger prints of STJ photographs I've taken and I'm wondering where to get them done.

Snapfish? Shutterfly? Kodak? Any others?

Any experience with who does a good job?

Thanks.

I like adorama.com. They have fantastic prices, my son used them for his engagement photos and was very happy with the prints. I made a photo book of st John for a friends anniversary and was extremely pleased with the results!

I use Shutterfly. They have good prints and I have had several books and other items. Very satisfied with everything.

I will second Adorama. Here's a couple of others you might consider. They are pro labs. ezprints.com and Bay Photo. Extremely good results from all three. I would go online and check how they process the digital image to make it 'look better'. I'm not sure the online photo hosting sites provide this service.

For print enlargements, to avoid fading, consider “archival” quality photo printing. Also consider a matte or semi-matte instead of a glossy print.

And, consider comparing the look and total cost of a large archival quality print, matted in a nice frame vs. a canvas print with a gallery wrap look. The usual suspects such as shutterfly.com and similar now do the canvas prints.
These guys are more expensive, but offer superior quality and service.

An example of a photo canvas I had done by them:

I have used Qoop.com for most of my larger prints. Try doing something on metallic paper for a really unique photo finish.

Hubby has used mpix quite a bit.

And the metallic paper really adds a nice pop to the colors.
