tuesday....

Post by loria »

last night we met some friends for dinner at shipwreck after a morning at hawksnest (where we met a very sweet newly married couple--honestly--they were just really nice)
today we made an early-ish start for salt pond (Gordon has been working every morning between 5:30_ish and 9:30-ish--which, while a bit irritating keeps him happy and this trip is about him and he has a bunch of grants to review...so I can read and hang..not so bad...) we hit salt pond at about 9:45 and read and swim--the water is REALLY HOT. Gord decides to hike Rams head (i am nose in book) He has pictures, i will post later--Great snorkel out to the rocks around the left side of salt pond

--forgot my hat and really regretting that at this point.
went up to the tourist trap for lunch--it was great as usual--

i don't know if Jimg20 posted but they lost their new underwater camera on sunday--I think they were going to try to find it yesterday--I sure hope they found it.
sitting on the deck--it's been really hazy here--please pray for nice weather for the 27th---I really want to pull this birthday dinner off....
< leaving on the 22nd of march...but too lame to figure out the ticker thing again!>

I have got my fingers crossed for the weather on the 27th. I hope your hubby has a great b'day, and that the dinner is a huge success. We hopefully will be arriving on the 1pm ferry. Cannot wait! Enjoy!

I hope Jim and Diana had good luck finding the camera!

The water was "really hot"? I have never heard the water around St. John, etc being described that way..It is just like that at Salt Pond?

In 2008, the water in Reef Bay was nauseatingly hot. After doing the hike, all we wanted to do was cool off. The water felt like 47 billion toddlers all peed at once in the bay. I snorkeled some just to say I did it and to add a bay to my list.

We swam out to the Sadie Sea for our ride back and the water was just downright evil for the whole swim.

I'd never experiences ocean water that was hot before.

Larry was saying that it has been unusually warm (the ocean) and i have been surprised at how warm it was especially at salt pond--
