Mother's Day on STJ

Post by JT »

Thanks to STJ Julie we spent Mom's Day at the Hanson Bay Campground at a party put on by Owen's Happy Hour. Owen's group had a fire pit going and sold terrific food. We had Caribbean lobster, whelks, chicken and various salads, all for $20 each. As an extra special bonus Inner Visions was playing the music. Not a bad first full day on island to start this trip. Thanks again, Julie, for the heads up.

That kind of a first day/Mom's Day sounds ideal to this mom... I'm glad you went.

Man! What a nice day huh? It was perfect weather too. My son had a blast out in the water, I lounged on the beach, the husband played dominoes... perfect day for all of us. They are doing another one this Sunday, May 30th. Not sure which band will be there, but I will be there!

On another note, I hear that Owen's Happy Hour is no more. That stinks! Something to do with a raise the rent is what I hear. Hey Pia, have you been by there lately?

Julie, we didn't see them open the whole 2 weeks we were there. I also heard that the rent on the old Pickles building had gotten to a point that it was impossible for them to stay open.
