Realistic - taking Ferry from Red to STJ for dinner?

Post by JSL »

Greetings all!

DH and I are veteran visitors to STJ but it has been years since we have stayed on STT. We have decided to spent 5 nights on STT at the Ritz for a quick summer surprise vacation in August.

I would love to rent a villa on STJ for the three of us (bringing our 17 year old DD) but I am not finding anything that beats the deal I booked at the Ritz.

We just love the restaurants on STJ and are wondering how realistic is it to take the Red Hook Ferry over to STJ for dinner and then take it back to Red Hook.

Appreciate your thoughts!

Easy to do :) Currently the last ferry from STJ to STT is at 11pm but just check the schedule when you are here because the ferry schedule sometimes changes for off season

I did this all the time when I lived on St. Thomas - I think it is very realistic.

We stayed at Secret Harbour briefly in February and took the ferry to STJ for dinner---no problem at all, and kind of fun to end evening with starlit boat ride.

Thanks all for the input!

It is going to be strange for us to stay on STT instead of STJ and at a hotel instead of a villa. I'm just so glad that we can get back to the USVI!

Completely do-able. We do this at least twice a trip.

It's so pretty and breezy on the Ferry at night.

Just look up at the stars.

Crossing the sound under a starlit sky sounds very nice indeed!

Had to edit this as it made no sense
