Staying in Coral Bay in June- noisy at night?

Post by ella656 »

Hi, We're staying at stoneharbour in June. Do you think will it be quiet at night? Also, any info about stoneharbour cottage would be appreciated.
CAN'T WAIT!

We stayed at Stone Harbor last Thanksgiving. Do a search for stoneharbor or the phrase stone and harbor and you should see info on it in the forum.

It was quiet, you could hear some music but not very loud, great to walk to restaurants, nice pool. Feel free to email if you have any other questions. Enjoy!

We heard some music when we stayed at Rhumb Runners, which is up pretty high. But it was never overly loud and never seemed to last very late, so it didn't bother us. I love the Coral Bay area. Have fun!

STJ in general is not a late night party kind of place. Coral Bay even less so.

It's hard to explain but you'll know what We mean when you get there.

You are up with the sun at the crack of dawn and when the sun goes down you want to go down with it.

We often find ourselves sitting at the villa and feeling like it's midnight and we look at the clock and it's only 9:30.

Restaurants don't stay open terribly late at all. Occasionally if it's karaoke night at Island Blues you can hear bits of that in the area but it's not bad at all.

Like I said, things shut down comparatively early in Coral Bay. Things saty open a bit later in Cruz Bay but even at 1:30 am on a Saturday night in Cruz Bay you will find you are wandering fairly empty streets.

Of course -- if it's a holiday or a special event none of this advice applies.
*Another fine scatterbrained production

Thanks for your responses. It's good to hear that it's fairly quiet. Music in the early evening sounds good. I went to St. John (Maho Campground) in 2002 when I was a student. I'm so excited to be able to rent a cottage this time and have a car so we can explore more of the island! We hiked to Coral Bay from Leinster on the Johnny Horn Trail in 2002 when we didn't have a car and spent some time at salt pond that day. That's my only experience with the Coral Bay Area. Toni, your trip report and stoneharbor info helped me decide on the cottage, so thank you!
