Of course they count! Cheryl Burke has a dance studio a couple of miles from my house.

And the Huff's are related to my nail tech. It's sort of known that Julianne is coming back to DWTS soon.

I have met a bunch of famous people, I think, but probably my favorite was that I once worked as an guest usher for the David Letterman show and got to meet Dave (briefly, he was very reserved) and Paul Schaeffer (nice man), as well as the special guests that evening. It was really fun.

This is a silly one, but a couple of years ago Kevin Spacey flirted with John! I told John that it's just evidence that he is universally appealing.

I dont know if this counts - more like "I knew them when".
I've mentioned here before that I went to grammar and high school and was good friends with 3/4 of The Smithereens - a semi-famous rock band from the late 80s and 90s.
Kinda cool to have seen them first learn to play together in a garage while in high school, then years later see them on TV playing on The Tonight Show and SNL.

My favorite celeb encounter was in a Barnes and Noble. It was a Saturday of a spring Nor'easter and we were perusing the children's section. A gentleman walked in coat dripping ahd his hair disheveled from the wind and rain. He started looking as well at the books on the table we were standing at as well, the whole time muttering to himself. I looked at him, the same time as my husband who then looked over at me with a look of..is that? The gentleman left and I said to hubby..."Wasn't that Reverend Jim from Taxi?". His response, "No, it was Doc from Back to the Future." They were both of course played by Christopher Lloyd. The fact that he looked and acted like the characters he played in that moment made the encounter all the more enjoyable. LOL

oh yeah, I also met Captain Steubing-he bought a nativity set from me from the Christmas Shop in Williamsburg.

And I also went on a "double date" with Bruce Hornsby ...who pretty much didn't talk to me or my date (who was a brother of a friend of Bruces). We were way to young to be there.

And I sat in a very early morning airport shuttle for about a half hour next to Yogi Beara (however you spell that). I had no clue who he was until we got out. All I knew is that he smelled bad, like he just woke up, which is what I am sure he did as it was about 5 am.

I met John Lithgow in a restaurant in New Orleans, and a few months ago, I met Kevin Bacon when he & his bro were warming up for a gig at the supper club across from where I worked. I'm thrilled to be ONE DEGREE from Kevin Bacon!
